Touchstone Institute is pleased to announce that Practice Ready Ontario is open for applications from Monday, July 22 to Sunday, August 11, 2024. Practice Ready Ontario streamlines the process for internationally trained physicians who have completed postgraduate training and have experience of independent practice in family medicine or as a general practitioner outside Canada. We would like to call your attention to recent updates to applicant eligibility criteria. These changes reflect learnings from the first year of the PRO pilot phase and input from stakeholder groups like ours: Recognizing the value of training and practice experience, allowing for length of practice equivalences to address differences in postgraduate training rotation in medical education in other countries Embracing the diversity of individual experience by reducing the number of years required of post-graduate training and independence practice by one year and increasing options for how to the meet the criteriaClarifying exam requirements for initial application and candidate verification Reducing the need for additional language testing Visit Practice Ready Ontario for more details and to apply. We encourage you to review information and apply early to meet the August 11, 2024 deadline. Ontario Health (Access Centre) Q&A sessions: To support the PRO applicants, we will offer the following online sessions: – July 29th – 11AM to 12PM (topic: Q&A session about PRO) – August 7th – 11AM to 12PM (topic: Q&A session about PRO) – July 31st – 11AM to 12PM (topic: Information session “Creating a CV for PRO”) To register for these sessions, please email [email protected] indicating the date(s) and topic(s) of your choice.
